Frodo has to reach Mount Doom. The Nazgûl are hunting him, Sauron's Eye keeps searching, and shadow armies are pouring toward the havens of Middle-earth. Fate of the Fellowship puts the whole table on the same side, working together to hold the line long enough for one small hobbit to finish the job.

Each player controls two characters at once, pairing heroes like Aragorn, Legolas, and Gandalf so their abilities cover each other's gaps. You move troops to defend key locations, fight off advancing shadow forces, and steer Frodo along his route while keeping him out of sight. On top of all that, every game deals out a different set of objectives, so the plan that won last time may be no help at all the next.

This is Matt Leacock's richest take on the Pandemic System yet: familiar enough that Pandemic fans will feel at home within a turn, deep enough to keep a regular group busy for a long time. A dedicated solo mode means it still hits the table on nights when the Fellowship is a party of one.
